Home Games Revisited

I have had so much fun and have been so intrigued with the opportunity to meet and play new people, characters, each week that I have gone quite some time now without visiting my regular or what used to be regular home games. Although I think about and plan to be there each week I find myself hanging out on Monday nights with the anticipation to play the Hoy! Then there's Wednesdays & Thursdays with the Mookie and the RiverChasers(don't get to play as often due to work) and of course let's not forget The Big Game. Each of these tournaments are riddled with great players, conversationalist and characters that l have enjoyed getting hammered by. Thus the reason for the Title Page of this blog. Tonight though I will be visiting a game I abandoned quite a few weeks ago, not because of the game or the players there, I actually miss it there because it supplemented my income each week for about 2 1/2 years, give or take a few weeks. If I win the first game I'll probably have time to get back and scratch that online itch. -Later, out-

!!!NEXT!!!

Finally... Inventory is over. Life (at work anyway) can return to normal....as normal as it can get that is. Results of our inventory were not as good as we were hoping for but well under the average for the company as a whole. We ended up shrinking out about a <1.2>. Doesn't sound like much but when you consider we inventory against sales for the year of just over $70million. <1.2> equates to a loss of.... well alot, just over $700,000. OK, enough about work. Now I can get back to focusing on what's important. Spending time with my wife and kids for the summer, and making plans to see the rest of my family that lives outta state, and having the opportunity to play more poker!! Gotta go for now. See ya on the felt. The Hoy is calling, answer...answer!

Well it has been a full week since my last game and/or post. Feels more like a month. Work has been extremely strenuous as we are preparing for our yearly inventory (with 5+ million $$$ in inventory), both kids have been here and there... beach, gatlinburg, six flags and carowinds... spending mucho $$$. I sometimes wonder how my parents were able to make it with 4 of us running around throughout the years. Celebrating the 4th was left up to the family and in-laws this year. Work kept me occupied throughout. As the week ended and my long weekend (off friday-monday!) began we were blessed with a visit from my sister and her family from NC. They actually live next to my bro TripJax. It was a great time! It was only the 2nd time they have made the trip here so we tried to get out and do as much as we could with everyone. Spent most of the time at the pool, grilling out just about every meal and reminising about the past. With my sisters 3 kids (all girls), my two (girls) my neice and her girlfriend myself and my brother-in-law (Spanky) were quite out numbered.... 9 to 2. Won't go on about the details, but we enjoyed every moment and only wished they had stayed longer... or lived closer- Hope it doesn't take 10 years to get them back!
Will say that we went to see the new Die Hard movie! Live Free or Die Hard. Great movie! As a fan of all the Die Hard movies I couldn't wait to get there. Kids went to see Rattatuie and the Teens + went to see the shsocker 1408. All got great revues from the family, next...Transformers!
Will get back to the felt talk as soon as I get back to the felt. May have to play at a home game tonight-WG's was out of the idt Visas. Damnit! Just got a text from my wife who is visiting her 94 year old grandfather in the hospital. Text reads...Fire Alarm is sounding here at the hospital. Will call with details! If not playing I'll be railin' after the home game! See you at the Hoy! Hopefully across the table from ya! -OUT-

!Full Tilt on Full Tilt!

After making the final table and watching my brother take down the BBT Finale I decided to continue into the night on Full Tilt. I registered and played in a 69+6 guaranteed tournament shortly after the finale and was doing quite well. Quite well until about three minutes before the third break that is. Normally I sit out about 3-5 minutes early for each break but as I clicked sit out next hand Q Q shot up on th screen. At this time I'm the dealer and had plenty of time to get back in the hand. With 4 players ahead of me already in the hand after a minimal raise I raise the amount of the pot at the time and everyone calls. Great!?! Yes it was . Flop comes out AQQ!
As the betting begins the SB player bets the pot amount, BB player calls, next player folds, player to my right calls. At this point I am in the top 10 and only the SB player has more chips than me at our table. With 2 of the other 4 players already all in and 1 folding leaving only the table (and tournament) chip leader and me sitting with Quad Queens! Of course I go all in and get a very quick call from chip leader. Chip Leader shows AA(FH-Aces over Queens), BB shows KJ (Straight draw) and to my right KK (2 Pair). YES! Now all I have to do is dodge that last Ace. Turn comes out and it's the last King in the deck. One more to go. I get up off the chase and walk away not wanting to witness the last card. After about 3 steps I turn around check the screen, only to see the little rectangle box in the middle of the table. No need to check last hand played. The only card in the deck that could beat me comes out and my Quad Queens get CRUSHED by Quad Aces!
After a cigarette and a few rants to my dogs Pugsley and Wednesday, cause they were the only ones awake and the only ones that would have listened anyway I go back and enter another tournament. This time a 90 player SnG with 20+2 entry. First hand out I get AA in the pocket as the BB. The first raise in the beting was to 90, reraised to 420, then an all-in from the dealer. 5 people end up all-in on the first hand, thought I was in a freeroll or a rebuy tournament! AA vs. AA vs. KK vs. 10 10 vs. 2 2. The flop, turn and river misses everyone as far as digits, but the board ended up with 4 clubs. Of course I hold the Aspades and Ahearts.
After the BBT, a quick exit in a token tourney I did not discuss, and the 2 tourneys I just described I decided it was time to go to bed, or at least get off the computer. Wouldn't have mattered if I had stayed on anyway, when I got up today and completed all my duties for the day I signed on to try again while the kids were outside playing in their clubhouse only to find I now have $1.12 in my account. Oh well, enough venting for now. Good Luck to all on the tables. Hope to see you out there soon. Look for me on a freeroll table for now! -OUT-

BBT Finale: !Trip Jacks 4 TripJax!

What a night at the Blogger Big Game! TripJax takes advantage of a double up at the final table with, what else... trip jacks .... and pushed his way all the way to the title. It wasn't an easy road but it was well worth the ride. TripJax, Hoyazo, Rake Feeder , Ddionysus, and Dabag take home the cash and the final three provide a marathon finale. It looked as though RakeFeeder was going to push his way to the title, he even had support from some of the railers. But Trip and Hoy had other plans. The play from the final three players wasn't the only interesting and entertaining highlights of the night. There was also a rant provided to the final table by MiamiDon about how great each of the players were! Don was unfortunately on the recieving end of 2 bad beats, or were they really bad beats? Anyway, he spewed for a while after the two unfortunate beats and got quite a reaction from several of the players. For me this was a side of Don I had never seen but I think it was all in jest. It was entertaining though!
On a personal note, I did manage to make it to another final table! But that was well short of the result I was wanting and needing to qualify for the Freeroll. Didn't do too bad for the intermident season I participated in. I played in only 13 events ( 11 MATH, and 2 Big Games). Was able to token my way into 10 of the 13 events (which includes both Big Games!). Made it into the points 5 times with 4 final table appearances 3 cashes ...with my best finish being 2nd place to mntrider. I'm not sure about the final standings for the points or the money, but looks like I will fall just short of the qualifications to make the freeroll. Didn't make the 20 required tournament entries, due to my work schedule, will probably finish in the top 25 on the moneyboard, but looks like I will miss the top 50 in points as well. Oh well. Maybe next time... hope there is a next time! This was a great series of tournaments. Thanks to all who were responsible!
Congratulations again to TripJax! !WTG Bro! As well to the other cashers... Very nice game Hoy! Better luck next time Rake! -OUT-
